PMI’s exams are hard, so this is a concern for many students, but a mindset you want to avoid. But, with risk in mind, you need to understand the threats associated to your goal of earning your new certification.
PMI does allow you to retest up to three times before they restrict you from taking the exam again for one-year.
If, for any reason you fail, I will work with you by going over your results, talk through your mindset the day of the exam, and develop a plan for how to move forward. Remember, failing the exam is not the end, it is a learning experience that is telling us something has to change!
This is always a complicated question to answer. I’ve seen people pass by studying for a few weeks and others that took a few months.
But, just like we learn in the course about agile project story points and how one teams points cannot be compared against others, we must use this same concept for study time.
On average, people need 100 hours of study time to pass the PMP®, much of this time is taken up in the 35 hour course, practice questions and practice exam (to include the reviews).
With a dedicated study time of 2-3 hours/day, most students are ready to go within 2-3 months.
The courses are live as that is our structure. You are able to miss up to one full hour of classroom time. Anything over that and you’ll need to complete the course in another session.
